Summer Lovin’

I love summer and I love the sun! For the first 9 years of my education I was forced to wear dresses to school and thus rebelled against the idea of wearing them for fun. Now I love a pretty summer dress. I have been in a dress kind of mood, but alas I don’t have nearly as many as I would like. If I could buy these pretties from Modcloth I would be a summer dress wearing goddess…What do you think?

You say it’s your birthday…

scentblocker jacketTwenty seven years ago today, before I was even born, God gave me a precious gift…Drew.  He is one of the most tenderhearted and loving people I know. He is crazy and fun…my favorite person to laugh with…a hard worker…a great dirt bike rider…smart…and a great listener. Drew is so many things to and for me. I don’t know where I would be without him. Happy Birthday Drew…I love you!

New Look

Ok so I have been in a redecorating mood, but alas you need time and money to do that, so I decided to change the look of the blog. Thus the new look. I was pretty excited I figured out how to do all this.

In other news I am about to take a Spanish test and need to study, so I will leave you with a song I am absolutely in love with and is a reflection of where I am right now…marital bliss. Isn’t weird how you love your husband every day, but sometimes you just love him a little sweeter and miss him a little more even when you are only apart for a few hours? Love makes you crazy.

Let summer begin…

This past weekend I got a little dose of summer. It being my Spring Break we took a little trip down to Jacksonville. I am in love!!!!! When Drew and I first visited there after his parents moved in September, I really liked it, but didn’t get time to fully appreciate all it has to offer. Needless to say after a trip to the TWO STORY Forever 21, two trips to my favorite cupcake shop, and walking along the beaches I want to live there. Drew and I both had a great time hanging out with his parents and just enjoying the beauty that is Jacksonville, FL.

I love Cupcakes!!!!!!

Needless to say we will probably be using too much gas to visit this summer, because we are both aching to be back there. I am so ready for school to be out and for lazy days in Jacksonville and elsewhere to begin…I will work going to work in there somewhere. ;)

everyone loves a winner

If there is one thing I have learned about being in the Hunt family it is that they love riding dirt bikes. This isn’t just something you do willy nilly, it is a way of life. Before Drew came along names like Stewart, Villapoto, and Reed meant nothing to me. Now I know these guys are some of the top motocross riders in the world. If you had asked me the difference in a 250 and a 450 I would have said one has a higher number. These are just a few of the many, many things that I never would have known about had Drew not come into my life.

That being said this weekend Drew, Randall and I loaded up and headed to Billingsley for a race at Tree Farm. Drew doesn’t get the opportunity to race often because most of the races are on Sundays. This weekend we gave into our heathen nature and went to the race. That being said, I was very impressed that before the race a man I only know as “the preacher” got up and shared the gospel and then said a prayer. It was only about 10 minutes, but that 10 minutes might resonate with someone.

Here are a few pictures from the race…

AND THE WINNER OF OPEN B CLASS IS…….

DREW HUNT!!!!

I am so proud of Drew for winning this race for a number of reasons. A) He got a late start. B) This was his first race in quite a while, and C) This was his first race riding a 450. I guess the 450 might be his thing. If you want to see his lovely plaque/trophy it is displayed on our piano…that is until the next race when he wins an even bigger trophy. Good Job Drew! I love being married to a winner! ;)

Summer please come soon!

So I have been on somewhat of a blogging sabatical. I think it is a mixture of being tired and overwhelmed by school and just not making time for it like I should. But here I am back in the blogosphere sharing my yearning for summer. I love summer for a number of reasons.

1. No school (if I so choose, and this year I do)
2. Warm weather and sandals
3. The tons of fun it entails.

I thought it would be fun to share a few things my summer will hopefully include:

1. The Beach

I am blessed to have in-laws who live at the beach (aka Jacksonville) and this suits me just fine. I love them and I love the beach, it is the best of both worlds really. We plan on making several trips this summer and I can't wait!

2. Books

Part of the problem with being in school is that most of the reading I do is not for pleasure. I have about 5 books that I am dying to read, but just haven't found the time to get to. I plan on at least reading those books and hopefully finding time to read a few more.

3.Crafts

I consider myself a crafty person. I have all these ideas in my head and things that I want to try, but with school and all, most of my ideas never come to fruition. Hopefully I will have time to get a few crafts in. Hobby Lobby here I come!

4.Disney Wprld

Yes, please!! I love all things Disney, but alas I have never gotten a chance to visit this magical place. Drew says this will probably change this summer and I am oh so ready for it!!!

5.Rompers

I love a romper! Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the perfect one until now. Currently there is an adorable romper at Target, that has my name written all over it. I plan to buy it and wear it while I craft, read, beach and Disney!!! Like I said I love a romper!

6. Take lots of pictures.

One of my downfalls is I feel like I haven't sufficiently documented my marriage through pictures. All throughout highschool I took pictures of EVERYTHING. Since I got married it seems my picture taking has decreased...this summer that will change. Everyone please be working on your cheesy grins now!

Just another day in paradise…

tumblr_lg7ja2GAgR1qe7vz2o1_500_largeYesterday was Valentine’s Day, for all of you who live under a rock and didn’t know. Like I have mentioned before I don’t embrace the idea of loving your husband or wife more on February 14th just because a holiday dictates it. I do however embrace gifts, and thus Drew and I did celebrate this manner. Although the day was a little different than a usual Monday since Drew was off work due to a minor dirt bike injury, it was really not much in the way of a holiday. I was however struck by the idea of how amazing my life is. While it was a day of love and bliss, I realized that the same love and respect my husband showed me on Valentine’s Day is the same love and respect he shows me 365 days a year.

Drew and I did temporarily lose our minds and went out to eat at Longhorn, thanks to a gift card from my AMAZING mother-in-love (aka Drew’s mom). It was a nice time, and the food was good because it always tastes better when someone else is paying and cooking. But like I said aside from the ridiculous crowd this day was just like any other.

I don’t keep reiterating this to make it seem like I had a bad Valentine’s Day, I say it to magnify the fact that everyday with Drew is nothing short of amazing. Some say chivalry is dead, obviously they have not met my husband. Yes, we have our moments, but who can stay mad at their best friend? Even when the day didn’t go as planned, and even when it seems like the ups and downs will never stop; I know that at the end of the day it will be all right because I am laying down next to the man that God made for me.

I consider myself a very lucky girl, I don’t need a special day set aside for my husband to prove his love for me, because he does it EVERY day. So yes, yesterday was nice, but it was really “Just another day in paradise.”
