I'm just a little black rain cloud...

When I was a little girl I had a Winnie the Pooh video. In this particular story Pooh rolls around in the mud in an effort to disguise himself as a little black rain cloud. He then proceeds to obtain a balloon from Christopher Robin all in an effort to fool the honey bees gaurding the honey Pooh so desires to have. I saw this image the other day and I thought back to this video that I used to love. Aren't we all just like Pooh Bear, putting on a disguise, all in the effort to get what we want. In most cases that little black rain cloud that we wear is just a mask to obtain the acceptance we all desire to have. We use the rain cloud to hide insecurities, things we are ashamed of, or any number of things. We are so concerned about what people think of us or how we will be judged that we hide our true selves. The thing that strikes me as remarkable is that just like the honeybees weren't fooled by Pooh Bear's disguise, God is not fooled by the disguises we put on. He knows our true self, and even when others don't accept that, God does and loves us all the same. I am thankful for a God who knows me and loves me. And even when that little black rain cloud of self doubt creeps in, I have confidence that I am fearfully and wonderfully made by a God who loves me and knows my every need.

  1. I love it how, as we grow older, we refer so much to our childhood to explain or understand our lives now. Like the word says, out of the mouths of babes! Great analogy Kimberly!
